NEET UG PYQ-Driven Preparation Strategy
The most productive NEET UG preparation strategy starts with two sources: the NMC syllabus and the previous-year question papers. Together, they tell you which chapters NTA tests most frequently, how questions are framed, and what NCERT language and diagrams appear again and again.
Biology carries 360 marks — half the paper — and most of those marks reward NCERT reading, diagram study, and exception recall, not complex reasoning. Physics and Chemistry require more problem-solving practice, but PYQ-tagged topic lists keep the scope manageable.

A chapter-based PYQ loop that works
- Read the NCERT chapter fully — Including every diagram, table, and in-text example. NEET tests NCERT language and exceptions directly.
- Solve PYQs for that chapter immediately — Do not wait until the end of a subject. Solving chapter-level PYQs while the NCERT is fresh is the most effective retention method.
- Note what you got wrong and why — Most wrong answers trace back to skipped diagrams, overlooked exceptions, or misread MCQ options — fix those specifically.
- Revise the chapter before the next full mock — NCERT revision + PYQ practice per chapter is more valuable than buying additional reference books for most students.
Droppers: start with Biology: If you are repeating NEET, Biology revision is the fastest path to additional marks. Many dropper-cohort improvements come primarily from systematic Zoology and Botany revision rather than major subject switches.
